This script properly fixes category counts when the database is populated manually or loaded with a CSV file.

If you had an existing database or list of items that you chose to load into your CubeCart3 store via a CSV file or other method, then you probably found that the system didn't properly show you the count of products in each category and sub-category.  Well this nifty little script fixes that problem.

 

The fixCatCount script will parse your category database, calculate the number of products in each cat / sub-cat and update the database accordingly.  It will work on both the main category assignment and any category assignment made with the "Manage Categories" feature. This means that if you have one product in 5 categories and sub-categories, it will still update the counts accordingly.

You'll need to download the zipped file, extract the PHP file (fixCatCount.php) and upload it to your /admin/categories/ directory. Then just call the file in your browser and it should fix your problems.

As always....Backup your database first! Use at your own risk.
